GHG Emission Reduction (Reducing Carbon Footprint)

At MMK, we concern about the importance of environment and the impact of climate change.

We are committed to practicing the reduction of greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions throughout our manufacturing processes, which is also aligning with Thailand's national climate goals.

Circular Economy Initiatives

Circular economy aims to minimize waste and promotes a sustainable use of natural resources.

At MMK, we do 3R activities to comply with the circular economy approaches.

3R (Reduce, Reuse, Recycle):

  • We have a campaign to reduce the usage of electricity and water, including reuse the used materials such as carton boxes.
  • We use reusable gloves in some activities instead of disposable gloves.
  • We changed the faucets into water-saving ones.
  • We use a tank cleaning system with a high pressure sprayer, which help to reduce the amount of water used in washing activities.
  • We replace old air conditioners with new ones, which save electricity and use R32 air conditioner refrigerant, to reduce global warming.
  • We use variable speed air compressors to save the energy by automatically adjusting the compressor’s operating speed to match with the demand in real time throughout the day.

Green Energy

Green energy is generated from natural resources, such as sunlight, wind or water.

These energy sources do not pollute the environment, and they are renewable in nature. At MMK, we partially use electricity that is generated from sunlight.

  • Solar Cell Rooftop: - We installed solar cells, as one of the renewable energy resources, on the roofs of the warehouse and the R&D laboratory’s building.
  • Electric Vehicle Forklift: - We uses electric vehicle forklifts in our factory and warehouse to reduce the usage of non-renewable energy.

Waste Reduction and Recycling

Our company concerns about environmental responsibility and promotes sustainability through the implementation of comprehensive waste reduction and recycling practices.

We also reduce the water consumption by reusing treated water and cancel landfilling of sludge from wastewater treatment systems.

  • We initiated a project to separate recycled waste instead of landfilling.
  • Reused treated water:
    • We installed solar cells, as one of the renewable energy resources, on the roofs of the warehouse and the R&D laboratory’s building.
    • We uses treated water to wash the floor around the outside of the factory that is not related to the inside production line.
    • We uses treated water in the toilet for flushing. It doesn’t be used in the purpose of washing skin or face.
  • We distributed our staff the stainless steel tumblers and reusable lunch boxes instead of using disposable cups and food containers.
  • We initiated a project to compost food scraps in order to make the fertilizer.
  • We cancel landfilling of sludge from wastewater treatment systems and change to RDF (Refuse Derived Fuel), which means we turn waste into energy. RDF is a fuel produced from various types of waste. The waste collected is shredded, dried, baled and then burned to produce electricity. Furthermore, we are currently studying on using it to make soil improvers and brick blocks.
